Where to send the child in the summer? Summer children's and teenage language, health, sports camps at sea camps in the Baltic States: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and also abroad.
2024/2025 the school year in Latvian schools will start on September 2, 2024.
1-8for classes and 10-11the school year will end on May 30, 2025, for 9th grade students – on June 13, and for 12th graders – on June 20.
There are two semesters in the academic year
The first semester will last from September 2 to December 20, 2024.
Second semester 1-8for classes and 10-11for classes – from January 6 to May 30, 2025. For 9th grades, the 2nd semester will last from January 6 to June 13, 2025, and for 12th grades – from January 6 to June 20, 2025.
Holidays determined during the school year
Autumn holidays – from October 21, 2024 to October 27, 2024;
Winter holidays – from December 23, 2024 to January 5, 2025;
Spring holidays – from March 10, 2025 to March 16, 2025;
Summer holidays – 1.-8.for classes and 10-11for classes – from May 31 to August 31, 2025.
As before, educational institutions will have the right to independently decide on one week of additional holidays for 1st grade students in the second semester. Also, the regulations provide – if situations arise during the school year that cannot be predicted in advance and due to which it is impossible to fully ensure the learning process for at least one week, the head of the educational institution, in coordination with the founder, is entitled to make a decision on the extension of the school year 1. – 8 . for classes and 10th – 11th classes.
